Timely Tips ...
Taxes
As you know, April 15th is
just around the corner. If you
haven't already prepared your tax documents,
please make sure you take note of these HSA
contribution details:
HSA
Prior-year and catch up
contributions
Did you know you can contribute up to the
maximum allowed for the 2009 tax year at any time
up until the tax-filing deadline of April 15? This
means you still have time to contribute up to the $3,000
individual or $5,950 family contribution maximums
for 2009. (Note
this form is for OptumHealth Bank. If you have a
Triad/NFS account please contact us directly for
the necessary details.) Also,
if you are 55 or older, you can make "catch-up"
contributions, meaning you can deposit an
additional $1,000 each year. If your spouse is
also 55 or older, he or she may establish a
separate HSA and make a catch up contribution to
that
account.
